Reflections
“I have watched Tempe Leadership grow over the past 25 years into an organization that is know for providing aspiring leaders with the tools to become active participants in organizations throughout the community.”
~Don Cassano- Past President of Tempe Chamber of Commerce
“As a member of Class VI, I learned so much about the city I love. I often feel I’m ready for a “refresher” class. Tempe Leadership provides the education and foundation to inspire powerful citizen participation and provide the opportunity for new leaders to emerge.”
~ Bobbie Cassano- Class VI
“First…you don’t have to be elected to be a leader, nor do you have to be in a position of authority to be a leader. Leadership begins with a passion for making a difference.
Use the passion you have to help make a difference in your community.
Second…you must practice leadership skills by listening to others and learning from their experiences and applying the skills you can learn in a leadership program, like Tempe leadership.
Third…leadership is unique because it is always changing. the only constant in our world is change. And it is true now more than ever.
You must be flexible and open to new things to effectively lead others. Good leaders adapt to change today as they prepare for tomorrow.
So, for me, passion, practice, and adapting to change are essential to successful leadership.”
~Barb Carter- Class IX
“Tempe Leadership has impacted our community in so many ways! Many Tempe Leadership graduates have applied what they learned in the program to service in the community. From city commissions and elected officials to school and non-profit boards, nearly every civic group has a connection to Tempe Leadership.”
